News-Letter-September 2017

Back-To-School....and Youth Group! We are starting our third year of Holy Child Youth Group!  This year, we will be adding some new opportunities for our youth, as well as keeping some of the old favorites. Our first event of the year will be the Diocesan Day of Service.  As you may know, Holy Child Parish has been chosen as the host site for the Western Region of the Diocese of Scranton.  This Day of Service is a response to Pope Francis's challenge for the young people "to leave a mark".     The day will start with registration in Holy Child Church Hall at 11am.  There will be an Opening Prayer and lunch.  Following lunch, there will be a Sending Forth Blessing, and we will proceed to the service sites.  The service sites for our area are the Tioga County Homeless Shelter and the Carelton Senior Care and Rehabilitation Home.  We will return to Holy Child prior to Mass, to reflect on our experience and then attend the 4pm Mass as a group.  Fr. Don Williams, the Director of Vocations, will be celebrating the Mass. You can register online until  Monday, September 11.  If you would prefer for me to register your children as a group, that is possible, as well.  See below for the link.  Although it is geared towards young people ages 16 - 35, our younger youth group members are allowed to participate in the event. Please encourage your teenage or young adult children to participate in this event!   If you have any questions, please let me know! - Sarah Online Registration Form: Register Online Today!
